After 3 seasons in the British Truck Racing Championship, John joined the ETRC grid as a race-by-race entry in the 2022 championships. Racing in his #18 MAN truck, John took 3rd place in the Promotors Championship in 2023. Our first season saw us rise to success and the team is set for future podium finishes.
Our incredible sponsors are behind us all the way, we have a fantastic relationship with MAN who supplied the incredible D26 1200BHP engine, chassis, and axles. Good Year provides our racing tyres and …. are looking after our breaking technology.
We love our supporters and are always pleased to meet and greet at the races. The team is always happy to take photographs and answer any questions you have.
We manufacture trucks and tankers, we sell parts, we operate three train terminals bringing in freight from all over the UK, then our haulage fleet transports goods across the country. Our technology company is busy innovating sector leading products for the fuel distribution industry. So, you could say we live and breathe it and that’s why we added truck racing to our family business. We love trucks.

Our Driver
Our driver John Newell first raced in 1997, then took an 18-year break and returned to the sport in 2018. John is dedicated and focused as the new season approaches and preparations have begun for the Good Year FIA European Truck Racing Championships 2024.
John is looking to move up the podium from 3rd place where he landed in 2023. Fitness and health play a big part in life, he’s keen to follow training and diet plans, but will enjoy a nice meal out and beer. It’s all about balance for John, so on race day he has optimum performance.
