Newell and Wright is a family business in the transport and logistics sector. NWT Motorsport have competed in both the British Truck Racing Championship and placed 3rd in the Chrome category in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championships in 2025. The team has developed significantly and are prepared for the 2026 season.

John Newell
Our Driver
Our driver John Newell first raced in 1997, then took an 18-year break and returned to the sport in 2018. John is dedicated and focused as the new season approaches and preparations have begun for the Good Year FIA European Truck Racing Championships 2026.
John is looking to move up the podium from 3rd place where he landed in 2025. Fitness and health play a big part in life, he’s keen to follow training and diet plans, but will enjoy a nice meal out and beer. It’s all about balance for John, so on race day he has optimum performance.

Newell and Wright is a family business in the transport and logistics sector. We’ve got years of experience around trucks and when we had enough of building tankers, we thought why not race them.
NWT Motorsport exceeded expectations competing in the British Truck Racing Championship so made the move to the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championships in 2023, coming 3rd place in the Promoter’s Cup. In 2025 we took 3rd place in the Chrome championships and our team are confident ahead of the 2026 season.
